Installing mods for Farming Simulator 25

FS25 uses its own mod folder and often needs up-to-date global scripts. Always download from the author — not random mirror sites.
Mod folder location
Windows default: Documents → My Games → FarmingSimulator2025 → mods. On Steam you can open local files from game properties.
Do not mix FS22 mods into FS25 — different engine and save structure. Check the author states FS25 compatibility.
Download and unpack
On FS Portal the Download button opens the creator's page. Use only that source — avoid shady aggregators.
Most mods are ZIP archives. Extract into mods so modDesc.xml sits directly in the folder, not nested twice.
Load order and conflicts
After copying files, launch the game and enable mods. Large maps: back up your save first.
Enable global scripts before dependent mods — read the author's README.
If the game crashes, disable recently added mods in halves until you find the culprit.
DLC and multiplayer
Maps and vehicles may require DLC. Missing DLC often shows pink textures — not necessarily a broken mod.
In multiplayer, host and clients need matching mod lists and often matching DLC.
